TruNatomy Rotary Canal File — Orifice Modifier
TruNatomy™ is Dentsply Sirona’s latest creation in a long tradition of successful endodontic treatment solutions, alongside brands such as ProTaper® and WaveOne®. The TruNatomy™ solution offers: softness of feel during preparation; improved performance and efficiency; more space for debridement and debris removal; respect for natural tooth anatomy; and preservation of tooth structure.
Endodontic access
Successful root canal treatment starts with adequate access to the pulp chamber. The ideal procedure provides access to the root canal orifices with minimum dentin loss. Remaining dentin is a critical foundation for quality restoration after root canal treatment. The more dentin preserved, the more options for a successful, durable restoration. Therefore a Conservative Endodontic Cavity (CEC) is recommended with the TruNatomy™ system.
The TruNatomy Orifice Modifier ideally shapes the orifice to create entry for the TruNatomy Glider and TruNatomy Shaping files. Thanks to its flexibility, diameter, and heat-treated NiTi alloy it can preserve coronal anatomy. It is also ideal when the canal does not enter the tooth vertically and may enter at different angles. The TruNatomy Orifice Modifier is recommended as the basic TruNatomy sequence.
Glider & shaping
When an effective, reproducible glide path is created, preparation efficiency increases significantly. The TruNatomy Glider optimizes the glide path and provides a smooth transition between K-File and TruNatomy Shaping Files. TruNatomy operates at higher speed for cutting efficiency with less torque. With only 2 cutting edges it encounters less resistance and thus greater ease of use and precision with less pressure applied. Heat treatment provides greater flexibility with improved fatigue resistance.
TruNatomy Shaping Files are available in three different sizes and lengths: TruNatomy Prime for most cases, plus TruNatomy Small and TruNatomy Medium for smaller and larger canals. Clinicians experience fluid transition between TruNatomy™ Shaping Files.
Design highlights
- Thin NiTi wire design: Maximum Flute Diameter (MFD) 0.8 mm instead of up to 1.2 mm for most variable-taper files
- Off-centre cross-section
- Higher efficiency with less torque
- Enhanced safety — reduced fracture risk thanks to greater flexibility and cyclic fatigue resistance
- Intuitive, easy-to-learn endo solution that requires less shaping time, leaving more time for irrigation
