Surgiplaster® – 100% Resorbable Synthetic Calcium Sulfate Graft Material

A safe, predictable and scientifically proven surgical graft solution for bone regeneration.

Surgiplaster is a 100% synthetic, fully resorbable calcium sulfate-based bone graft material developed to fill natural or pathological bone voids in dental and maxillofacial surgery. The hemihydrate and dihydrate calcium sulfate forms it contains optimize the biological solubility of the material and are fully absorbed by the body within 3 months.

Replacing Surgiplaster with new bone tissue, it can be used alone or mixed with Fisiograft Slurry Gel or granular graft materials.

Biological Structure and Mechanism of Action

  • Osteoconductive: Supports migration and adhesion of new bone cells.
  • High biocompatibility: Does not pose inflammation risk, contains no systemic toxicity.
  • Contains no animal content: Does not carry infectious risks such as BSE, HIV, HBV, SARS.
  • Rapid resorption: Completely dissolves in 3 months, replacing with bone.
  • Histologically proven: Bone formation and vascularization observed at 4 months.

Clinical Advantages

  • 100% synthetic and safe structure
  • Easily moldable with saline or Fisiograft Slurry Gel
  • High volume stability and scaffold effect
  • Compatible with various surgical indications
  • Available in syringe or powder-set forms
  • Can be used alone or in combination with other bone grafts

Technical Description

Surgiplaster G170 and P30 products come with both "normal" liquid and "fast" liquid (fast-setting solution) in the kit. Both liquids are mixed with calcium sulfate hemihydrate to form a paste-consistency graft.

Standard Setting (with Normal Liquid)

  • Setting time is approximately 10–15 minutes.
  • Allows long manipulation time for the clinician during application.
  • Easy to shape and position after placement in the defect area.
  • Ideal application for large-volume defects and contoured areas.
  • Comfortable consistency control when used with Fisiograft Slurry Gel or granular grafts.

Covering with a membrane (PRF or synthetic) is generally recommended.

  • Suitable for aesthetic areas, soft tissue compatibility and applications requiring controlled placement.

Fast Setting (with Fast Liquid)

  • Setting time is between 2–5 minutes.
  • Shortens surgical time, saves time.
  • Quickly fixes its position upon placement.
  • Suitable for small defects and closed cavities that do not require shaping.
  • After setting, the material can provide a barrier effect on its own, reducing membrane requirements.

  • Reduces graft dislocation risk in areas in contact with soft tissue.
  • Recommended for cases requiring rapid application, limited membrane use, or short surgical time.
