It is self-limiting in terms of etching depth (average 1.9 μm depth with 15 seconds of etching)² and creates an etching pattern that adhesives can penetrate to increase bond strength.

Despite its viscous nature, Ultra-Etch etchant can penetrate even the smallest fissures and occlusal surfaces due to its physical and chemical properties that support capillary action.
Its ideal viscosity maintains a layer thick enough to prevent premature drying.
Indications for Use
- Ultra-Etch etchant is indicated for use on dentin and enamel to create optimal bonding surfaces.
- It is also used to remove porcelain salts before the silane application of a bonding agent.
Important Note
Do not use phosphoric acid on metal and zirconia as it reduces bond strength.
